Owner and Head Speed Development Trainer
Kendrique graduated from Ashford University in 2012 with a degree in Health and Wellness. While working on his education, Kendrique started his career gaining experience working with a variety of clients at Fitness Quest in Bloomington, Illinois. He worked with numerous athletes from football and swimming athlete, to general fitness clients.
From there, Kendrique began getting experience in track and field where he worked with high school sprinters. He spent 2014-2015 working with Pontiac Township High School track athletes and was the assistant sprints coach where he assisted multiple state qualifying sprint relay teams and individual field event qualifiers.
Following his year working with Pontiac Township High School sprinters, he ran and organized the strength and conditioning programs for the 2015-2016 basketball, football, and softball programs.
During his time developing and managing the strength and conditioning programs for the Pontiac Township High School athletes, he began researching more sprinting and speed development for all athletes. During 2016-2017, Kendrique took on another roll with track and field athletes, but this time with the girls track and field team at Pontiac Township High School. Again, Kendrique was a part of assisting multiple relay teams qualify for state.
During the summer Kendrique was presented with an opportunity to train athletes in North Dallas/Frisco Texas area. During his eighteen months in the North Dallas area, Kendrique worked specifically with athletes within the speed development of their given sport. This provided Kendrique with time to sharpen his skills and knowledge while also working with division one, two, and three athletes. In addition to his time in Texas, he became the head boys and girls track and field coach for Dallas International High School where he lead multiple individual event qualifiers to state (100m, 200m, 400m, 1600m) and one thrower.
Now, in Bloomington-Normal, Kendrique’s primary role is the owner and operator of Coats Performance which was founded in 2014. Kendrique works with middle school and high school track and field athletes, as well as various other sports athletes with goals of becoming faster and more efficient within their given sport. Kendrique’s experience over the years and his ability to continue pursuing further education through the industries top speed performance coaches and self education has given him a reputation of helping develop young athletes speed in and around Bloomington, Illinois.
